SC28001 is a zinc-free additive package designed for formulating oils used in modern locomotive diesel engines
like EMD and General Electric, as well as marine and stationary diesel engines. It meets specifications such as LMOA
Generation V, GE Generation, and Caterpillar, and is free from chlorine and zinc-containing additives.
General Application
SC28001 offers significant benefits by extending oil change intervals for locomotives. This capability allows
engines using SC28001-formulated oils to operate longer between oil changes, resulting in cost savings and reduced
maintenance frequency. Engineered for exceptional thermal stability, oxidation resistance, and deposit control,
SC28001 maintains engine cleanliness, prevents harmful sludge formation, and ensures consistent performance over
extended periods.

Features / Benefits
- Deposit Prevention: Contains effective detergents and dispersants to prevent deposits and sludge buildup, ensuring engine cleanliness and efficiency
- Corrosion Resistance: Offers robust protection against corrosion, safeguarding engine components and maintaining their integrity
- Oxidation Stability: Provides effective resistance against oxidation, preserving oil quality and ensuring stable performance over time
- Alkalinity Control: Includes additives to control alkalinity and neutralize acids, extending the oil's service life and protecting against corrosion
- TBN Retention: Maintains Total Base Number (TBN) throughout the oil's lifespan, ensuring ongoing protection against acidic combustion byproducts
- Engine Efficiency: Improved lubrication, deposit prevention, and corrosion resistance contribute to optimized engine efficiency and performance
- Extended Oil Change Intervals: Enhances oil effectiveness, allowing for longer intervals between changes, reducing maintenance frequency and costs
- Soot Control: Effectively disperses soot and prevents accumulation, maintaining engine cleanliness and performance
- Cost Savings: Collective benefits result in reduced maintenance expenses, extended engine life, improved efficiency, and overall cost savings
