The SC51408 Additive Package is specifically engineered for the formulation of lubricants
designed for machine tool slides, tables, feed mechanisms, and ways. These lubricants,
available in a range of ISO Viscosity Grades, provide superior performance in applications where
solid lubricants are unsuitable due to cosmetic or operational constraints.
SC51408 delivers exceptional thin-film wear protection using a proprietary blend of anti-wear
(AW), extreme pressure (EP), and friction-modifying agents that work synergistically. When
subjected to high pressures at contacting asperities, these additives form low-shear compounds
on working surfaces, mimicking the lubrication properties of solid-film lubricants without their
drawbacks.
General Application
SC51408 are recommended where the use of lubricating solids is restricted due to manufacturer
requirements, very fine filtration, or concerns about solids contaminating the manufacturing
process. They are suitable for lubricating various machine tool components, including slides and
ways, spindles, plain and anti-friction bearings, translating screws, headstock gears, and some
circulating systems.
